Coverage
Acting for both insurance providers as well as those insured, our general insurance practice encompasses matters falling outside those involving personal injury or disability insurance claims.
Most often, a General Insurance policy covers a residential or commercial policyholder's losses associated with fire, theft, or other property damage. Other commercial policies may provide coverage for certain types of business losses.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation
Disputes can and do arise with regard to what a given policy of insurance does and does not cover. Instances of exaggerated or entirely fraudulent claims may also arise, along with issues surrounding the subrogated rights of insurers.
Our general insurance practice hinges on the early assessment of each insurance dispute with a view to providing cost-effective and innovative solutions for our clients. It is our goal to ensure that sound cases will be successfully defended or advanced and that weak cases are settled in the most advantageous manner possible.
Our insurance litigators have successfully defended and prosecuted a wide variety of insurance cases in the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia as well as the Court of Appeal. |
